If you miss Will Herondale, Bibliopunkk can help!

Fellow fans of Cassandra Clare (and her amazing Will Herondale!) know Clockwork Prince is coming out on December 6th. If you aren't a fan or don't know what I'm about to ramble on about (GASP!!!!!) then you should click right here! But I'll be honest with you, I'm very impatient when it comes to books, which is why I think ARCs are about the greatest thing since Harry Potter.

Well, maybe not THAT great. But pretty close.

ARCs, for those who don't know, are Advanced Reading Copies. If you want to learn more about them, see what Cassandra Clare herself had to say about ARCs on her tumblr.

So, ARCs are hard to come by, unless you're a reviewer or a close friend of the author (I wish!) Anyway, the only way for us commoners to win one is through contests.

There are big contests, like the one going on at Goodreads. It's hosted by Simon and Schuster, the publisher of The Infernal Devices, and they are giving away 100 ARCs! All you need is a Goodreads account to enter, but hurry, because the contest ends October 18! Enter here.

There are also smaller contests, like the ones run by independent blogs. These contest usually have an ARC that is one of a very few that the blogger has, or sometimes the only one.Blogger Bibliopunkk is giving away her only ARC right now. So join in on the clockppunkk mania and enter here. Plus, you can find out what clockppunkk really means!

I wish y'all the best of luck in the contests!

Mizpah (fans of Clockwork Angel will understand this!)

Hello Person Reading This!

Hi! Somehow somewhere you are seeing this writing, and I'm very excited, because this is my first ever blog post.

So what better to talk about than other blogs?

I check a few blogs, and I'm working on growing that list because it's really a rather small one.  However, I love each of these blogs and have been known to excitedly tell anyone who would listen about them.  So I was wondering, what makes a great blog?

What Makes A Great Blog (In My Humble Opinion)

1) It's an amazing author's blog

If you've noticed the title of this blog, you know three of my favorite interests: reading, running, and writing. Most of my favorite blogs are written by my favorite authors, because I'm very impatient about waiting for books to come out, and I love reading any teasers, hints, and information pertaining to the book. Plus, author's are just amazing people, and sometimes they share their amazingness with others. Which brings me to my second reason...

2)  It pertains to the writing world
Many authors share writing tops and information about publishing on their blogs, and I'm only just starting to realize how invaluable this information is. These people have been through it all, and somehow survived, because they're still breathing and writing and they have wonderful, shiny books sitting on bookshelves all across the country. And they're willing to share this information with you. There are also blogs done by agents and people that have worked in the publishing world, and they are making the intricacies and secrets of getting your writing from your notepad/laptop into book form a little easier and a little less stressful every day.

3) It's so hilarious you almost choke because you're laughing so hard
This has actually happened to me when reading one of the blogs I now almost religiously follow. When I first found it, I spent the next three days looking through all the old posts, laughing and sending my favorites to my friends, and I remember saying "Breathe. BREATHE." When you can hilariously display the truth, you know you're doing something right, and this author had it down.

4) It's about books
Seeing a trend here? All the blogs I follow have to do with books. Only a few have to do with writing, and I have absolutely none that I follow that pertain to running, but I would like to find some more blogs on both of these subjects.

Which brings me to my question for all you:

What blogs do you like, and why do you like them? I would love to find some new favorites!

Because I really need to work on this list. Here are some of the blogs I follow, and I'll update the list as I found more favorites.

Amazing Blogs:
Tahereh Mafi's Blog
Jackson Pearce's Blog
Ally Carter's Blog
Cassandra Clare's Blog
Tera Lynn Childs's Blog
Aprilynne Pike's Blog
The YA Sisterhood Blog

I recommend that you check out all these blogs! Some have awesome giveaways, reviews of books, information about upcoming books that should be on your TBR list, hilarious posts-and all are amazing. Hope you have fun.

Remember to leave your favorite blogs in the comments!

Until next time,
